On Transport to and from Swansea University

By Bus

Swansea public transport runs regular buses between the city center, near the larger hotels, and the universities. The bus numbers are 2A, 3A, 4 (4 is the big purple "bendy bus") and 43. One of these buses runs about every 15 minutes to and from the university.

The timetables can be found here.

A bus map for swansea is shown here.

Buses 2A, 3A, 4, and 43 are on the south side (bottom) of the map.

By Taxi

Every hotel or guest house can easily call a taxi for you quickly. A taxi from the city center to the university is about £6 and is about a 10 minute ride. Split between 2 or more people, it costs roughly the same as a bus ticket.

By Bike

Cycling is the quickest and most convenient way to get around Swansea.
Swansea University has an initiative called BayCycle where conference delegates can rent a bike for free. See the BayCycles web page for more information.

The Bike Hub rents bikes for about £10/day. If you tell Nick and Chris (who run the shop) that you're friends with Bob you can probably negotiate a multi-day package deal. Google "bike rental swansea" and "cycle hire swansea" for more options.

On Foot

It takes about 30 minutes to walk from the city center to the university. Only about 20 minutes along the coast.
